The Lady Cougars took on Webb in a tough district match-up Tuesday night at home.

During the first half, MTCS came out strong battling on both ends of the court. MTCS took the lead 16-8 after the first quarter and kept the lead going into the half 24-18.

After going head to head with both teams scoring 9 in the 3rd quarter, the Lady Cougars moved the ball well during the 4th. A turning point for the game occurred when Reagan Atkinson took the ball to the paint for a three point play deep in the quarter. From that point on, others stepped up hitting free throws to secure the victory.

Sarah Wisniowski battled hard defensively down low and in the paint while Macy Smith made hustle plays outside sparking the Lady Cougars defense to pivotal stops throughout the entire game. The Lady Cougars were led offensively with three scoring in double figures. Bre’Aria Cannon had 20, Sydney Cooper had 13, and Amaria Gillisipe had 11.

Bre’Aria Cannon: 20 points (4 3PT, 6/6FT)

Amaria Gillisipe: 11 (3/4FT)
Reagan Atkinson: 4 (2/3FT)
